The Manufacturer
Reggaetees is a company known for its vibrant and culturally rich graphic tees that celebrate Jamaican heritage and reggae culture. The company specializes in creating apparel that captures the essence of reggae music, Rastafarian lifestyle, and the colorful spirit of Jamaica. Each piece is designed to reflect the bold and lively nature of Jamaican culture, using high-quality materials and detailed craftsmanship.
The Piece
The Jamaica Graphic Tee by Reggaetees is a distinctive tie-dye t-shirt featuring the iconic colors of yellow, red, and green. The graphic design prominently showcases Jamaican symbols and motifs, celebrating the island's rich cultural heritage. This tee is single-stitched, a feature that is often associated with vintage clothing, adding to its unique appeal.
The Style
The tie-dye style has a long history, becoming particularly popular in the 1960s and 1970s during the counterculture movements. It is characterized by its vibrant and unpredictable patterns, often created using a resist-dyeing technique. The yellow, red, and green colorway is especially significant in reggae and Rastafarian culture, symbolizing the Ethiopian flag and representing important cultural and spiritual values. The graphic tee itself became a staple of casual fashion in the same era, used to convey messages and express individuality.

What Makes it Vintage?
- Single Tag
The double tag was common by the end of the 90s, so clothes with only one tag indicate a pre-2000s manufacturing.
- Single-stitched
The “single-stitch” is a quick way to scan an item to see if it’s vintage or not. Almost all T-shirts began to be double-stitched after 1994. If a shirt is single stitched all over (on the cuffs, shoulders, collars, hems) then it’s probably from the 70’s or 80’s. If a shirt is single-stitched on just the cuffs, then it is probably from the 80s and 90s.
Each of our vintage pieces comes with a handwritten, customized, and strung card-stock tag of the piece's background and vintage appeal.
